Southampton Puppet Shows

Last week, Mr. Hodgson video-taped puppet shows from the Norris sixth grade classes and then converted them into web-based movies for the world to enjoy. (That includes you, Youth Radio friends!). Our young writers worked in cooperative groups for about six weeks on planning, writing and creating puppets for performances for younger grades in our school.
So break out the popcorn and crank up the volume because here you go …

I want to compliment you on your wonderful puppet shows. As a teacher, I know it’s not always an easy task to get groups of students to collaborate in the brainstorming, writing, revising, and production steps needed to pull a project together. Congratulations!
I have a request, but in view of the many, many projects already happening in your class, I will completely understand if you do not have time for what I am about to suggest. One of your early podcasts involved an interview with Mr. Hodgson, Devon, and Missy on Internet safety. I think it’s important to start working with younger students on safe use of the Internet. So if you ever have a free moment, I think a puppet show format would be an excellent way to mentor our younger students.
