February 14, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Dear California students,
Wow!
Your letters are amazing and your voices were powerful in telling the terrible stories behind the words. It’s a reminder to all of us how one person can truly make a difference in the world if they follow their heart and do the right thing even in the face of adversity.
Thank you for sharing your writing and your voices with us here at Youth Radio.
Sincerely,
Mr. Hodgson
PS — We will try to listen to the podcast this week, if we can (a snow storm has blasted our way this week — I hope we can get some photos here for you to see). Next week is winter vacation week for us, so if we don’t get to your story with comments, please be patient.

Thank you letting me know your class is podcasting. I am really inspired!. Podcasting across the nation is brilliant. What is most impressive to me is through this project your students have become aware of how important each person is and the difference one person can make in their world. Kudo’s to you Mr. Faires. Focusing on projects like this one is a great way for kids to learn, gain a deep appreciation for another persons courage to take a stand and see what can come out of standing for something.
February 22, 2007 at 12:29 am
Terrific! All your hard work really shows. I am impressed and inspired to have my high school students do as well as you did.

what a great article, after hearing that i thought that he’s like a saint after trying to do everything that he can to put other’s before himself and trying to save as much people as he can against the Nazzi’s. So I admire you and what you did.
March 5, 2007 at 11:42 am
That story is very inpiring to be a true hero in life especially when you save a lot. In our modern time there is only a few hero because some of the people only think for them self. But with the story of Mr. Sugihara it made me inspired to be a true hero not just for fame but for to save others.

Your podcast moved me deeply. Your voices made one of the most disturbing times in history come alive. I felt the fears, desperation and gratitude of the Jews; the bureaucratic resistance of the Japanese government; and the courage of Mr. Sugihara, who did the right thing at tremendous personal cost. Thank you for your wonderful work.

This story is very sad because Mr. Sugihara saved many lives yet many never knew what was coming. People still have similar beliefs and it is just cruel.
